The IRC Chanserv Commands
Chanserv is what controls any commands that deal with #channels on IRC. Be sure to REGISTER your channel first. Many of these commands are useless on channels that have not been registered. It's the first command listed on this page for easy reference.
To use the commands, simply type them into the text box of the channel.
(listed in alphabetical order)
register - /msg chanserv register #channel password description - Registers a channel to the server. DO THIS COMMAND BEFORE USING ANY OTHER COMMANDS IN YOUR CHANNEL! This command will register the channel and make you the channel founder. You MUST currently be an OP in the channel to register a channel.

akick - /msg chanserv akick #channel add nick reason - Adds a nick to the akick list for a channel. A nick on the akick list will automatically be banned and kicked if they enter the channel. This command can only be used by a channel founder or SOP.

akick cont' - /msg chanserv akick #channel clear - Clears the list of nicks on the akick list. This command can only be used by channel founder.

akick cont' - /msg chanserv akick #channel del nick - Deletes a nick from the akick list for a channel. This command can only be used by channel founder or SOP.

akick cont' - /msg chanserv akick #channel list - Lists all nicks on the akick list for a channel. This command can only be used by channel founder or SOP.

AOP - /msg chanserv aop #channel add nick - Adds a nick to the AOP list. This command can only be used by a channel founder or SOP.

AOP cont' - /msg chanserv aop #channel clear - Clears the entire list of all current nicks with AOP status. This command can only be used by a channel founder.

AOP cont' - /msg chanserv aop #channel del nick - Deletes a nick from the AOP list. This command can only be used by a channel founder or SOP.

AOP cont' - /msg chanserv aop #channel list - Displays a list of all current nicks with AOP status. This command can only be used by a channel founder, SOP, or AOP.

appendtopic - /msg chanserv appendtopic #channel message - When the topiclock command is set, use this command to update your channel topic.

ban - /msg chanserv ban #channel nick reason - Bans a nick from a channel. Putting a reason is optional, but helpful to let the user know why they are being banned. You must be an OP in the channel to use this command.

dehalfop - /msg chanserv dehalfop #channel nick - Removes halfop status from a nick on a channel. You must be an OP in the channel to use this command.

deop - /msg chanserv deop #channel nick - Removes OP status from a nick on a channel. You must be an OP in the channel to use this command.

deowner - /msg chanserv deowner #channel - Removes your founder status on a channel. This command can only be used by channel founder.

deprotect - /msg chanserv deprotect #channel nick - Removes protect status from a nick. This command can only be used by channel founder or SOP.

devoice - /msg chanserv devoice #channel nick - Removes voice from a nick. You must be an OP in the channel to use this command.

drop - /msg chanserv drop #channel - Unregisters a channel. This command can only be used by channel founder.

halfop - /msg chanserv halfop #channel nick - Gives halfop status to a nick on a channel. You must be an OP in the channel to use this command.

HOP - /msg chanserv hop #channel add nick - Adds a nick to the HOP list. This command can only be used by a channel founder, SOP, or AOP.

HOP cont' - /msg chanserv hop #channel clear - Clears the entire list of all current nicks with HOP status. This command can only be used by channel founder.

HOP cont' - /msg chanserv hop #channel del nick - Deletes a nick from the HOP list. This command can only be used by channel founder, SOP, or AOP.

HOP cont' - /msg chanserv hop #channel list - Displays a list of all current nicks with HOP status. This command can only be used by channel founder, SOP, or AOP.

identify - /msg chanserv identify #channel password - Identifies you as the channel founder. The password is the same as the one that was used to register the channel.

info - /msg chanserv info #channel - Displays the following information about a channel: the channel founder, time/date of registeration, last time the channel was used, channel description, and any mode locks.

invite - /msg chanserv invite #channel - Tells chanserv to invite you into a channel. This command can only be used by channel founder, SOP, or AOP.

kick - /msg chanserv kick #channel nick reason - Kicks a nick from a channel. Putting a reason is optional, but helpful to let the user know why they are being kicked. You must be an OP in the channel to use this command.

op - /msg chanserv op #channel nick - Gives op status to a nick on a channel. You must be an OP in the channel to use this command.

owner - /msg chanserv owner #channel - Gives you owner status on a channel. This command can only be used by channel founder.

SOP - /msg chanserv sop #channel add nick - Adds a nick to the SOP list. This command can only be used by channel founder.

SOP cont' - /msg chanserv sop clear - Clears the entire list of all current nicks with SOP status. This command can only be used by a channel founder.

SOP cont' - /msg chanserv sop del nick - Deletes a nick from the SOP list. This command can only be used by a channel founder.

SOP cont' - /msg chanserv sop #channel list - Displays a list of all current nicks with SOP status. This command can only be used by a channel founder, SOP, or AOP.

topic - /msg chanserv topic #channel topic text - Sets a topic for a channel. Depending on the channel settings, you may have to be an OP to use this command.

unban - /msg chanserv unban #channel nick - Unbans a nick on a channel. You must be an OP in the channel to use this command.

voice - /msg chanserv voice #channel nick - Gives voice status to a nick on a channel. You must be an OP in the channel to use this command.

VOP - /msg chanserv vop #channel add nick - Adds a nick to the VOP list. This command can only be used by channel founder, SOP, or AOP.

VOP cont' - /msg chanserv vop #channel clear - Clears the entire list of all current nicks with VOP status. this command can only be used by channel founder.

VOP cont' - /msg chanserv vop #channel del nick - Deletes a nick from the VOP list. This command can only be used by channel founder, SOP, or AOP.

VOP cont' - /msg chanserv vop #channel list - Displays a list of all the current nicks with VOP status. This command can only be used by channel founder, SOP, or AOP.

The following list of commands can ONLY be used by a channel founder.
set desc - /msg chanserv set #channel desc description - Sets the description for a channel.

set email - /msg chanserv set #channel email email@address.com - Sets an email address for a channel. To delete an email for a channel, use the command with no email address given.

set entrymsg - /msg chanserv set #channel entrymsg entry text - Sets an entry message for a channel that users will see when they enter the channel. To delete an entry message for a channel, use the command with no message given.

set founder - /msg chanserv set #channel founder nick - Changes the founder of a channel. There can only be one founder of a channel. So use this command wisely.

set keeptopic - /msg chanserv set #channel keeptopic on|off - Chanserv will retain the last used topic in the case that all users leave a channel, and will restore the topic when a user joins. on|off will tell chanserv whether you want to turn the keeptopic command on or off.

set mlock - /msg chanserv set #channel mlock modes - Locks certain modes on or off for channel. You must use - (minus) or + (plus) in front of the modes to tell chanserv to turn them on or off. + (plus) turns the mode on, and - (minus) turns the mode off. Follow closely as I list all available modes for the Nethernet server.
c - +c allows colored fonts in a channel/-c disallows colored fonts in a channel.
i - +i sets a channel as invite only/-i allows anyone to enter the channel.
k - +k sets a key (password) on a channel/-k removes a key (password) from a channel. You must provide a word for the key to work.
l - +l sets a limit of how many users can be in a channel/-l removes the limit of users in a channel. You must provide a number for the limit to work.
m - +m sets the channel as moderated/-m removes the moderated setting. When channel is set to +m, users who are NOT a channel founder, OP, or voiced cannot talk on the channel.
M - +M sets the channel as moderated for unregistered nicks/-M removes the moderated setting. When channel is set to +M, users who have not registered their nicks cannot talk on the channel.
n - +n will block any user from sending notices into a channel without being in the channel first/-n allows any user to send notices into a channel without being in the channel.
p - +p sets a channel as private/-p allows a channel to be seen when a user uses the /whois command.
s - +s sets a channel as secret/-s allows a channel to be seen when a user uses the /whois or /list command.
t - +t will allow only OPs to set a topic/-t will allow anyone in the channel to set the topic.
T - +T will block users from using the /notice command in a channel/-T will allow users to use the /notice command in a channel.
V - +V will block users from using the /invite command in a channel/-V will allow users to use the /invite command in a channel.

Capital or lowercase DOES make a difference to the mode. Some examples of how this code would look:
/msg chanserv set #channel mlock +tnk-c channelkey
/msg chanserv set #channel mlock +Mpl-st 50
/msg chanserv set #channel mlock +stV
/msg chanserv set #channel mlock -cin

opnotice - /msg chanserv set #channel opnotice on|off - Enables chanserv to send a notice to the channel when the OP or DEOP command is used in a channel. on|off will tell chanserv whether you want to turn the opnotice command on or off.

password - /msg chanserv set #channel password new-password - Changes the password for a channel.

peace - /msg chanserv set #channel peace on|off - When the peace command is on a user will not be able to kick, ban, or remove channel status of a user that has a level superior or equal to their own. on|off will tell chanserv whether you want to turn the peace command on or off.

secure - /msg chanserv set #channel secure on|off - Prevents any user who has not registered their nick and identified as their nick from will not be allowed to enter a channel. on|off will tell chanserv whether you want to turn the secure command on or off.

securefounder - /msg chanserv set #channel securefounder on|off - Adds more security to a channel founder. Only the real channel founder can access founder settings instead of anyone who is identified with chanserv. on|off will tell chanserv whether you want to turn the securefounder command on or off.

secureops - /msg chanserv set #channel secureops on|off - Users cannot be given OP status unless they are already on a SOP, AOP, HOP, VOP list. on|off will tell chanserv whether you want to turn the secureops command on or off.

successor - /msg chanserv set #channel successor nick - Sets the successor of a channel. When the channel founder's nick expires or is dropped, the successor nick will become the new channel founder.

topiclock - /msg chanserv set #channel topiclock on|off - Prevents the topic from being change except by using the topic command. on|off will tell chanserv whether you want to turn the topiclock command on or off.

url - /msg chanserv set #channel url http://enteryoururl.com - Sets a URL for the channel. To delete a URL for a channel, use the command with no URL given.
